During CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2025, the world’s largest IT and consumer electronics exhibition held in Las Vegas from January 7 to 10, Enrique Lores, CEO of global IT giant HP Inc., made headlines by personally visiting the booth of ETUNNEL, a Korean venture company.
ETUNNEL, a specialist in biometric authentication, is showcasing its innovative range of products at CES 2025. These include access control systems, PC log-on solutions, POS payment systems, software wallets, and hardware wallets powered by ETUNNEL's proprietary finger vein recognition technology. The company is also unveiling smart ID cards embedded with fingerprint sensors, fingerprint self-registration devices, and other cutting-edge fingerprint recognition technologies.
On the third day of CES, January 9, Lores visited ETUNNEL’s booth with several HP executives. Since 2019, Lores has been leading HP, a tech powerhouse generating annual revenues of approximately KRW 80 trillion (USD ~60 billion). He is widely recognized as a leader in the global AI computing industry, alongside Jensen Huang, the renowned CEO of NVIDIA.
Lores’ visit to ETUNNEL’s booth is seen as a reflection of the growing necessity for enhanced digital security in an AI-driven future. ETUNNEL’s biometric AI engines and diverse authentication solutions, crucial for preventing cybercrimes such as online hacking and unauthorized PC access, have attracted significant interest from HP’s leadership, signaling potential for future partnerships.
ETUNNEL has already bolstered its reputation in the global biometric authentication market by being selected last year as the supplier of fingerprint authentication smart ID cards for employees of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a United Nations-affiliated organization.
In addition to HP, ETUNNEL’s booth at CES 2025 also garnered interest from major international financial institutions like JPMorgan and Deloitte, leading automobile manufacturers such as Toyota and General Motors, as well as organizations like Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Many expressed their desire for business collaboration with ETUNNEL.
ETUNNEL’s achievements are expected to significantly strengthen its brand power and market position as a leading Korean company in the global biometric authentication industry.
